PARSNIP - WHITE GEM
Sow thinly into finely raked, warm, moist soil at a depth of 13 mm (1/2") in rows 30 cm (12") apart. Germination 10-28 days. Thin seedlings to 15 cm (6") between plants. Grows best in well-cultivated soil that has not been recently manured. Ideally, lift roots when required, as frosts sweeten the flavor. In severe weather, cover tops with 7.5 cm (3") straw, or lift some roots and store in boxes of sand or soil. Sowing/Cropping: 28-32 weeks.
