Frequently Asked Questions
What does "P base" mean?
It's the base paint we tint to your chosen colour. Different bases suit lighter or deeper shades – just tell us your colour and we'll use the right one.
What topcoat should I use with it?
Finish with Fleetwood Advanced High Gloss, Satinwood or Eggshell. Tinting the undercoat to suit your topcoat colour gives the best coverage.
Can I use it on bare wood and metal?
Yes. It's designed as the first coat on wood, metal and furniture, inside and out.
Is it like an oil-based undercoat?
It flows like a traditional oil paint, but it's water-based – so it dries faster, has less smell and brushes wash out in soapy water.
How much will I need?
With two coats, this 1L tin covers roughly 6m². As a guide, a standard internal door (both sides) is about 3.2m².
How long before I can apply the topcoat?
It's touch dry in about 30 minutes and ready to overcoat after 4 hours.
