Remember to ALWAYS point the vent away from the handle as well as yourself as it may release steam that could cause the handle to become hot to touch and potentially cause injuries. Also, ALWAYS let the kettle rest on the cooktop/hob after turning off the burner and before pouring hot water to allow steam from the vent to be released.
