Frequently Asked Questions
Will the walnut tint change the colour of my wood significantly?
The walnut tint adds a warm, mid-brown depth to timber rather than an opaque colour change. The result depends on the natural colour of your wood — lighter timbers will show more colour shift, while darker timbers will see a subtle enrichment. Test on a small hidden area first.
How many coats do I need?
Apply 2–3 coats on bare timber, lightly sanding with 240-grit paper between each coat once dry. For floors and stairs, 3 coats minimum is recommended for maximum durability.
Can I use it on previously varnished wood?
Yes — lightly sand the existing finish to create a key, remove all dust, then apply as normal. If the existing finish is in poor condition, strip back to bare wood before applying.
How long before I can walk on a varnished floor?
Allow each coat to dry for 2–3 hours before re-coating. The floor will be light-foot-traffic ready after the final coat has dried overnight (approximately 12 hours). Full hardness is achieved after 7 days.
Is it waterproof once cured?
Yes — once fully cured (7 days), it provides excellent resistance to water, household spills, and everyday cleaning products. Wipe up spills promptly rather than allowing standing water.
