What is a recessed bracket?
A recessed bracket is designed to sit partially or fully within a groove or rebate cut into the underside of the shelf, rather than sitting visibly beneath it like a standard L-bracket. This gives a cleaner, more integrated look where the bracket is less prominent.
What size shelf can they support?
Check the product specifications for maximum load and shelf depth. As a general rule, brackets should be spaced no more than 600–800mm apart for standard shelving loads such as books and ornaments.
Do I need to cut a groove in my shelf?
Recessed brackets typically require a rebate or slot routed into the underside of the shelf to sit flush. If you’re using a standard flat shelf board, check whether these brackets can also be surface-mounted or require routing.
What fixings do I need?
Fix to the wall with appropriate screws and wall plugs for your wall type (masonry, timber stud, or plasterboard). Fix to the shelf with short wood screws through the pre-drilled holes. Fixings may not be included — check the packaging.
What shelf material do they suit?
The antique pine finish works particularly well with natural pine shelving, solid oak, and painted MDF boards in traditional, country, and classic interior styles.
